CPE 3021: Creating a Climate of Motivation and Engagement

An organization with a culture of engagement and empowerment expects excellent from its employees. However, to perform well, employees must be motivated to do so, and they must be motivated to continue enhancing their skills.

This course describes how to be a leader who motivates employees to excellence. You will learn key concepts in motivational theory and how your behavior impacts the engagement, motivation, and performance of those you lead. At the end of this course you should be able to:

+ Explain the concepts of workplace engagement and empowerment.
+ Outline key theories of motivation and possible uses.
+ Discuss the leader’s role and responsibilities for performance management.
+ Explain the importance of understanding individual, cultural, and generational differences and how they can impact performance.
+ Discuss why it is important for leaders to promote high standards of performance and a positive work climate.
